Children, especially younger ones who are just starting out in a sport or other extracurricular activity, are so thrilled just be getting a trophy that it may be fine to forego purchasing custom awards and glass trophies that have little personalization other than a name. As they get older, though, and certainly when they become adults, a little more thought will need to be put into the custom awards and glass trophies being presented, and how to give them a more personal touch.

The time factor comes into play because the buyer must try to find out something special and personal about each recipient. When one remembers, though, that seemingly minor things such as a person's preferred color or even a personal product preference can serve as indicators, the task is a little easier and less time-consuming.

(If personal product preference is evident, as demonstrated through cups, tote bags, or other similar items, if it is seen at the work place, then chances are there will be no competition issues, as it is likely that most companies would have a policy against displaying a competitor's brand. Therefore, this could be considered. Similarly, company policy would dictate whether or not personalization of custom awards and glass trophies is permitted.)

If there are no conflicts with customer policy, then clues could be gathered from employees' work spaces. These can be gathered without intruding on one's private area, as simply standing at the door or cubicle opening would allow enough insight so that the buyer could get an idea of how to personalize custom awards and glass trophies.

Those custom awards and glass trophies that are meant to be hung or displayed in another manner, such as plaques or frames, can still lend themselves well to personalization. Parts of plaques can be in that person's favorite color, or an emblem denoting that person's hobby or something else can be placed on the plaque.

If custom awards and glass trophies are cast in such a way that they will be hung on a wall or otherwise mounted, personalization can still be possible. Favorite colors can be used in one area or throughout the piece, for example. Frames are especially easy to personalize. The borders can be in a person's favorite colors, with the inset engraved in a complimentary one. Small touches can be added also, such as musical notes running around the side of the frame for the recipient who is a music lover.

Nothing is more personal than one's name. Considering that it will most likely be included on custom awards and glass trophies simply gives the buyer another outlet for coming up with a way to personalize custom awards and glass trophies.
