Following its launch at Drinktec last September, Trustwater is pleased to announce its first Coca-Cola installation in North America at Viking Coca-Cola, Minnesota. Only two months after the installation, Viking is already seeing an increase line availability and overall production, has eliminated the purchase of traditional CIP chemicals and seen a significant decrease in both energy and water consumption.By enabling Viking Coca-Cola to reduce the amount of water used to produce its products, Viking is playing its part in helping achieve Coca-Cola achieve its goal of a 20% water reduction by 2012.

Trustwater's patented technology generates an entire beverage plant's detergent and sanitizer requirement, on-site, and on-demand. The only material inputs required are water, salt, and a very small amount of energy. Trustwater's electrochemical process then converts these basic inputs of H20 and NaCl, into two separate metastable solution streams. Produced simultaneously, one solution is a high-pH detergent solution and the other a powerful, neutral pH sanitizer.

These solutions are extremely effective and can replace all traditional chemical detergents and disinfectants used in food and beverage production. In fact, Trustwater's sanitizer solution, known as Ecasol(TM), is known to be 100 times more powerful that sodium hypochlorite and 10 times more effective than chlorine dioxide at removing stubborn biofilm. Furthermore, Trustwater solutions are non-toxic and food contact safe, compatible with all materials used in beverage equipment and are in accordance with the warranty specifications of all major bottling equipment manufacturers.

Furthermore, Trustwater solutions perform at ambient temperatures. In CSD bottling for example, all Trustwater CIP steps can be performed at ambient temperature, eliminating the energy cost and inconvenience of hot CIP. The overall benefits are much shorter cleaning and sanitizing times, more rapid changeovers and considerable water and energy savings.

Referring to their business model, Trustwater CEO, Edmond O'Reilly, said that their plan is to work with a select number of equipment providers and integrators: "Trustwater is the only technology of this kind that meets the warranty specifications of the major bottling equipment manufacturers. These companies now see us as a reliable and safe technology and one that offers significant bolt-on opportunities to their existing business".
