We are all at risk for termites, even though No one wants to have them. Termites do not discriminate; they infest any home. Some may consider a termite infestation is just annoying, but they can do more damage than you may know. They are an important part of our ecosystem, but in our households they are devastating. If you do not know the early signs of termites, they can ruin your property, even your entire home.

It is rather unfortunate that homeowners aren't even aware they have termites, not until a lot of damage has been done. Knowing at least the early signs of termite attacks can help protect your house before the problem starts or worsens. Termites will do more damage to a chunk of wood in a short amount of time. Thus, knowing some things to watch for will help you prevent a termite infestation before serious damage occurs.

You should know that not all termite infestations are visible to the naked eye. A little more time and a more conditioned eye is required in order to find these wood eating creatures. You can find them living & feeding off your walls, furniture, floors and other areas of the home that is made of wood. inspecting for mud holes & feces piles can help determine if you have termites.

Inspect areas where termites usually would go, to see if there are any signs of infestation at all. Check your garden & lawn area; tree stumps, dead leaves and mud holes in the soil. Also check if your walls have cracks or spaces, because they could be a termite's entranceway into your walls. You should also check moldings, window sills, basement walls & doorframes.

You should contact a professional termite exterminator or pest control company once you see these signs. If you have the proper equipment, you can even do it yourself. The point is stopping the termite problem before it even starts.
