During an interview, candidates are required to be able to portray their skills to the interviewer. It is during the course of the interview that the candidate should create a good impression; therefore, it is important to be prepared for the interview in advance.

Be well prepared for your interview by having your resume up to date, and being ready to answer challenging questions, as well as posing smart questions. Finding out information about the company that you are interviewing for is key. All kinds of information is handy, such as clientele, competition, numbers of workers and general information on the company itself. This will display your interest in the company. Asking questions relative to the position you are wanting will also show your interest.

Every organization has a specific process to follow when it comes to interviews. You should make an effort to find out about the interview procedure - either through friends who work at the company, on the Internet or simply by calling and asking. You could also ask the Human Resources Manager about the levels or rounds of interview that are required.

Once you have passed the first phase of the interview process, the employer will arrange a second face to face interview. Usually, the second round will include being interviewed by a larger panel of people. These people would generally be from the department you are interviewing for. This makes it all the more important, as they will be the ones who will be accurately judging your abilities.

As part of understanding the interview process for any company, you should understand these points: During the closing of the interview always thank the interviewer for their time. Ask the interviewer when you should expect a call from them. Be very positive in your approach and the conversation. At no point in time during the interview should you show the interviewer that you are nervous. Do not be hesitant in discussing about your role and salary that is being offered. Be very clear about the date that you have been asked to join the company, keeping in mind the notice period that you need to serve in your current organization.
