Bed bugs are itchy, silent predators, and beds are their most common area. They can infect your home without you even knowing it. These creatures are miniscule & hard to detect. The best way to get rid of them is to ask a termite exterminator or pest control company to do it for you.

You may wonder what the signs and symptoms of a bed bug infestation are There are 2 common signs, and they are the following:

1. Bed Bug Rash

Itching is the first sign of a bed bug rash. You won't be able to see the rash at first but it will definitely feel itchy. It is itchier than a mosquito bite, and the itch can usually be sensed 1 hour after the bite. In some cases, the bed bug rash comes out only a few days or weeks later.

You can identify a bed bug rash when it has a small, round and red bump that looks more swollen than a mosquito rash. In some cases, the rash looks a lot like a sequential bite mark. Should you suspect a bed bug rash, examine it for a few days. The rash causes long-term itching for days together. A bed bug rash also doesn't heal as quickly as mosquito bites. They remain swollen for weeks at a time.

2. Bed Bug Odor

Next thing to look for is bed bug odor. What kind of an odor does it have?

Bed bugs release an obnoxious, musty smell, so a home where there's a lot of bed bug infestation smells of it. You may detect this smell under the headboard and mattresses. If your sofas have cracks, check if they've got bed bug odor. They are also sometimes infested with bed bugs.

If your house is are infested with bed bugs, contact a pest control company immediately. After, you should execute pest control measures at home to prevent a repeat of this incident.
